Glitch is ending hosting on July 8th, 2025. Here is a guide that will break down everything step-by-step and help you focus on the future:
-
Don’t Panic
This is a big change. -
Start Downloading
@wh0 created this script to download all of the projects onto a folder called “projects.” Depending on how many projects you have, and depending on the size of those projects, this can take a bit. So plan it out. -
Start looking for alternatives
Glitch made this forum to help people find other alternatives to Glitch. I would highly suggest looking into some of the things there. -
Start Moving
Once you have found the alternative of your choice, start moving stuff there. If you have a domain that uses fastly to link to Glitch, that will most likely be disabled by this change.
In less than 48 hours, Glitch’s post on this issue has already passed 941 views, which is insane.
Note: Websites that give you a free domain for your projects like Glitch does, and hosts stuff for free, probably will either do what Glitch is doing, or will become a paid service. Last year, Replit.com did it, now Glitch, and soon probably the entire industry. I am saying this to prepare you. It seems like free hosting isn’t a sustainable business.
Remember, you have a month to prepare. You got this!
