Issues with the Glitch API, Editor and Project availability

You may see projects go offline or be unable to load them in the editor. We’re investigating the cause and working on restoring the service.

My project will still won’t load…

Same… hopefully it will be fixed soon. There’s been issues for the last 3 days.

I get different errors, but it say 503. It means currently the service is unavailable.

I can find my projects, but i cannot edit them.
I think, glitch is being DDoSed or maybe they doing something with the website.

Amazon Servers are used by Glitch, so whenever amazon servers gets hit, glitch start to hallucinate

Yes, you can know that by seeing the SSL Certificate when you see a glitch website

To the glitch devs. Could the community receive some kind of blogpost about what the hell is going on lately with those major outfalls on glitch. This cannot continue like this any longer. If Glitch becomes that unreliable I think many will move on to othe platforms which would be bad. At least let us know WHAT was resolved and not only THAT it was resolved please

hi @JaielSoft - typically after a long major incident, or series of similar incidents like this week, the team will do a retrospective on what happened and release a postmortem for the community. i’ll make sure to let folks know that you are all interested in what happened and what we’ve been doing and will do to move forward with better stability.

Also got access to the projects too.

Could the reason for all this downtime and all these issues be the exact same reason as most websites and companies are facing now which is an increasing number of users because of corona, and that glitch simply can’t keep up with the increasing number of users? I live in denmark and most school portals have the same issues and crash pretty often

I am trying to load up a project and the title keeps switching from waking up to maintenance. I hope that is a sign!

Yeah, That reasoning makes sense if it’s the case.

On status.glitch.com how come the date March 22 is skipped also instead of reporting no incidents?

It’s because we still have the 3/22 incident as active - so it shows in the red box on top of the page. Once we close it, it will show in that archive list.

Same! We’re still working on the issue and, because of the ups and downs over the past day, we’re not yet ready to consider this “resolved.”

Update: At this time, projects may not be loading past the “Waking Up” mode. We are aware and trying to resolve as quickly as possible.

This should now be resolved. Projects are now loading. However, you may see some lag time as we continue to work towards a stable fix. During this time, there may be issues with the adding a custom domain feature, so I am moving those posts here as well.

I tried to use Custom Domains for my project but I keep getting “An unknown error has occurred.”.

I’ve tried adding a custom domain to my website but I am getting the error ‘An unknown error has occurred.’ I can’t find out why it’s doing this, I have 3 thanks so i should be good to go. Any ideas?

Glitch is always safe, it just gets hiccups sometimes! Not to worry, these are often fixed within a few hours.

I don’t think so, @RiversideRocks. Because this is a #service-updates and the other is a topic about the custom domain effect of the current downtime. Maybe we could merge the other custom domain error threads, as there is many of them!

I’m not sure and I do not think so, because the API is going up and down a lot.

glitch should keep a second API so if the first one crashes then they can switch

Custom domains are currently not working.

API is finally stable, but custom domains aren’t working

I can’t seem to do these features. Any speculation on when these will work again?

No idea, until the API response time comes back to normal, none of these might work!

Thats what I was thinking. Hopefully everything is normal soon.

Many users have been facing this error, and it’s most likely because of the recent API downtime (which is still not over; see status.glitch.com). I also suggest emailing [email protected]!

Yeah, it says on the statuspage that everything works fine but I also can‘t register a custom domain yet.

This might be an issue with the API. I think @glitch_support is taking a look right now.

Sorry that this is causing problems — our teams are investigating. In the meanwhile, I’m going to merge all of these threads into Issues with the Glitch API, Editor and Project availability

GLITCH IS HAVING ISSUES why nobody understands

because in the status.glitch.com, everything is operational and it said that the incident has been resolved but it’s not as of march 26, 2020 1PM CDT.
