if you start out on a fresh project with no .cache dir, fc-list takes about 2 minutes to run

Why do you care about installed fonts serverside?

Good question. Iโve gotten into the weird situation where I need to generate raster images of text on demand. So I picked up this canvas package that can make those images, but itโs doing something with fc-list. I guess that makes sense, since Iโm not specifying a particular font file.
