Hello hello from a fall Friday in the Midwest
As I previously mentioned our team is looking forward to a three-day weekend, so this afternoon I’m trying to decide what to do with that time off. Should I finally re-launch my blog? Should I clean up that mess in the garage? Or should I mindlessly scroll Threads and then Instagram and then Mastodon and then Threads again while I watch scary movies…the possibilities are endless!
Anyway, it’s been a minute so here are pretty interesting links from around the community that I hope you’ll find the time to check out:
- This talk on the pandemic and work/life balance from Ed Yong at the final XOXO is excellent and thought-provoking and everyone should give it a watch!
- In a total mind-meld moment, the Wasp community is also hosting the “Most Annoying Cookie Banner Ever” hackathon this month and the winners get a mechanical keyboard!
- Continuing Hot Labor Summer™
gen-z for change’s meddling kids created this Glitch site that lets you stand in solidarity with striking refinery workers (you know, those government controlled weather machines lol) who are asking for better pay and safe working conditions. Which we all deserve IMO!!
That’s it for me, because Friday is calling my name but I also want to remind you to submit your projects to be featured as app of the week on glitch.com and to create a truly awful cookie scenarios for this month’s community code jam. Get the details on that at glitch.com/jams and have a wonderful weekend P.W.G.!!! (pals who glitch)
