To keep the Glitch servers healthy for all users, we limit the number of projects a user can run 24/7 to no more than 20. You can learn more about this limit here. If you have projects suspended please contact us directly at [email protected].
it says
Project Cannot Run
Maximum running projects exceeded.
and when i click on edit project it stuck in Loading Project
It is affecting a lot of my projects including my website and the cdn too, and one of my discord bots too.
402 error is project quota exceeded.
I’ve never heard of this error! Can you send a screenshot of what happens when you try to go to the page?
I have never seen this before! Send Glitch an email ([email protected]). I’ll be sure to do some more digging.
https://cdn.nicsena.tk/ (an example)
May I also ask, how many projects do you have on the uptime robot?
20 Projects on UpTimeRobot
9 Projects on Freshping
I never seen this.
So glitch must be cracking down people who use autopingers. That sucks!!!
The project was running just now ;\ now i cant even access my files
I have 7 on uptime robot and I have more on awake.glitch.me
I think they want people to use the paid plan instead of using autopingers.
actually im using glitch because its free
But I’m not sure. You should email Glitch.
Yeah, I switched to a webhost a few weeks ago, but there was a lot of downtime. So I switched back to glitch.
i cant even delete not working projects ;\
I’ve tried test.glitch.me
I believe glitch has finally ran out of projects. There must be a running projects limits otherwise the growing user base would exhaust glitch of it’s money and resources.
Maybe this is another AWS meltdown.
@glitch_support What is going on?
Project name is plutocatsmain, after doing the event on my Discord server, i tried to refresh the bot, and it gives errors, after refreshing the page, it just stuck at Loading Project screen, help me
Give it some time because Glitch is giving an odd error.
Just go to your project’s page and see if you get this error.
I mean go to your project’s page
(project name).glitch.me
it types “OK” and stuck there
Try again later. If this keeps happening, contact [email protected]
it is going on ~4-3 hours
It appears that there is an error when trying to view some Glitch projects. For example, when you visit test.glitch.me, you should get an error that says.
Project Cannot Run
Maximum running projects exceeded.
When the a ping service pings a broken project, this error appears:
402 Payment Required
Is this a bug? Is Glitch updating the free plan?
I also also getting this issue too.
Do you have a route in Express for /? I would guess that the OK is due to the code you have in your project, not a Glitch problem
Hi @RiversideRocks,
Thanks for asking!
As you know, by default projects go to “sleep” after 5 minutes of inactivity, and they are also stopped once ever 12 hours.
When users choose to override these default downtimes on a very large number of projects it can slow down things for other users. That is why we now ask folks to please limit the number of projects that they are running 24/7 to no more than 20.
As a result, users who already have a significant number of projects running 24/7 may have their existing projects suspended or be prevented from creating new projects - the message you posted is associated with the latter.
Is there a way to get a project un-suspended when it is flagged due to this?
So how would we control this?
I don’t think I have more than 20 projects running, however, I will be sure to check! Thanks @tasha
Update: The issue seemed to go away on my project.
How much is “a significant number”? Is it 20+?
@BrightnessTM - yes! send a message to [email protected] and we can help you out!
how do you know if its uptime robot or not
Also is this going to be posted in a place where more people can see this update? Is this going to be sent in an email?
Also, what projects are impacted? Only one of my projects got shut off.
@KarateBoi consider any amount over 20 to be “significant” enough that they may be suspended.
@RiversideRocksprojects that are set up to run 24/7 may be impacted if the project owner is running more than 20 simultaneously.
Ok, I will be checking uptimerobot and freshping and start deleting from there, so I can be below 20 projects.
By the way, for some of you who are using glitch projects as a cdn I recommend you move to a host like netlify, or zeit now(now.sh), to host things as they make it easier to deploy and have less restricting storage limits(netlify only has 100gb bandwidth limit I think). These services are powerful for hosting assets like images but not dynamic content like nodejs apps(static sites only for these services although now.sh may be able to run nodejs apps).
Second of all for those who are running multiple discordjs bots I think it would be a good idea to copy and paste all the code for your bots into 1 project if possible. Discord bots spend a whole lot of time idling so you should be able to get the same speed as if you were using separate projects but not the storage/memory benefits(you can host your db on something like MongoDB for free).
I use Netlify for static and I will transfer my CDN site over there after I remove the php from it.
But glitch is best for PHP and Node.js
help me for how can ı solve it
So how we can controle projects , ı have more projects
Remove a few projects from the auto ping service.
i removed most of projects from uptimerobot , now what should i do still i cant create projects or access some of my projects,
now i have only 7 projects in uptimerobot .
nvm guys after i waited a one hour now i can open my projects !
My project is not even 24/7, what??
I just created it yesterday
Only 15 now in uptime, what to do now?
Hi @tasha,
Thanks for explaining the new limits. Could the limits be documented with the other limits in the help page? https://glitch.com/help/restrictions/
It could also do with an explanation of what CPU actually means and how to manage it.
Thanks!
I’ve removed some projects off Uptime Robot. And for 95% of my projects, they are working but 1 of my projects are not working
ichigo-api-rewrite is project name and I can email support if needed
Ah not this. The dreaded 20 project limit. Since Glitch runs on AWS you could just allocate some more EC2 instances to save the sanity of users. I’m guessing as soon as you upgrade to a paid plan this 20 project limit magically goes away (else why would one want to pay).
kinda seems like a bit of a money making move

If you want to keep the servers healthy, why not delete those abandoned projects made by Anonymous users?
Projerele Giremiyorum Ki Sileyim.
Ana sayfada profilinizin altındaki alanı kontrol edin. Silinen projeleri söyleyen bir düğme olmalı. Bu düğmeyi tıkladığınızda projeleri oradan geri yükleyebilirsiniz.
Check the area below your profile on the homepage. There should be a button that says deleted projects. Click that button and you can restore projects from there.

You need to email [email protected] to have your project unsuspended.
but my project is not suspended, this is like this to all of my projects…
@davidBeko, are you using UptimeRobot or any other service, on more than 20 projects to keep your project 24/7 online?
@khalby786 yes i was, as i said in my topic description, i deleted some monitors… but still
I think this says that you’ll be prevented from creating new projects and editing them.
So i need to email thier support mail?
@khalby786 so i sent a mail to them, i hope im going to get my projects unsuspended because i work on this for more than 1 month
Just take some of your projects off of the Uptime Robot of awake.glitch.me. That should fix the issue.
Uptime olarak çalışan 17 projem var ama hala birçok projeme erişemiyorum ;
ruzgarbotproje
Hey recently I got hthe message “Maximum running projects exceeded.”
So I went to delete some projects but it didn’t let me, can you push my project limit a little further so I can delete some?
You will need to remove some projects from auto-ping services. (ie. uptime robot, awake.glitch.me)
Bendede hata var hala çözülmedi. Uptime olarak çalışan 17 projem var ama hala birçok projeme erişemiyorum ;
ruzgarbotproje
Sabah e posta attım [email protected] adresine hala düzelmedi
i already did, still the same, after deleteing projetcs and removing projects from uptime robot its the same
What does this new limit mean for teams. The scripting to save lives project has some of their projects in a glitch team. Will those be impacted?
@javaarchive limits apply to the individual project owners. If you are the member of a team and one of the projects displays the Cannot Run message, please have the project owner contact us.
You cannot edit, or delete, or view your useless project. This is all broken.
Yes, it sucks, at least we should view
I wanted to move my project to my new VPS, but go shocked that I can’t even download it
You can download your project: go to the Glitch editor, then “Tools” > “Import and Export” > “Download Project”
Please email [email protected] and we can get you the help you need.
My other projects open normally, except for the bookmandb-server project. bookmandb-server project stucks on loading page. A little help would be great.
project name: bookmandb-server
When I load up the project, I see a “Project Cannot Run” error. That means that you’ve been keeping more than 20 projects awake (using Uptime Robot or something similar), and need to email [email protected] to get your project unsuspended per this recent change
Now working, thanks for the response
This problem make me so hard to use glitch again
I can event see other people project to help other people
Try to delete some projects that your running 24/7 Glitch recommends no more than 20 projects of yours that run 24/7.
This new feature because a lot of people create unnecessary projects which makes it harder for other people to use glitch
it is quite a good idea because there must be thousands of junk projects and mining things
I just thought of an idea
Glitch should archive really really old projects with like Ultra7zip compression.
If one ever needs to be run, we can just unarchive it.
Hello. I get the following error when opening some of my projects. Among the projects that have made this mistake, there are projects that I did not open almost a long time ago. What is the reason for this?
The reason is “Too many projects running”
There is the same error in projects that are not working and that I have been interested in before.
Could be related to this recent change
Glitch should also delete anonymous user’s projects after 5 days.
Hello!
We have now added a Download Code button that appears within the Project Editor’s Project Cannot Run message.
That way, you still have access to your project’s code when it is blocked from loading because you already have 20 apps running simultaneously.
Thanks for all your feedback about this issue and for help explaining the uptime limits to other members of the community!
Thank you so much! That is a great feature.
They don’t seem to…
Can one still update code through git if the project isn’t starting due to the quota limit?
My main bot code got down for this and my not needed projects are ok
If I delete them, how my main bot (discord bot) will get online?
